The production process focuses on the use of unroasted cacao beans, which are refined in a melanger to achieve the final texture. The flavor profile is defined by the base of raw cacao, balanced by the addition of Peruvian pink sea salt for a savory finish. This production method earned the bar a Bronze award at the 2018 Academy of Chocolate and a Silver award at the 2018 International Chocolate Awards.
This product carries several certifications, including Organic, Non-GMO, Kosher, Vegan, and Gluten-Free status. Interested parties should note that a 2022 Consumer Reports evaluation indicated that the bar exceeds the California Maximum Allowable Dose Levels for lead and cadmium.
