Experience the award-winning 75% dark chocolate by Naive. Crafted from Costa Rican Upala beans, this bar offers deep notes of raisin and sun-dried plum.
The Douglas Dager bar is a testament to the experimental spirit of Chocolate Naive, an acclaimed bean-to-bar maker based in Lithuania. By operating their own production facility, they maintain complete control over the transformation of cacao from raw bean into a finished bar, consistently pushing the boundaries of what craft chocolate can achieve.
This 75% dark chocolate showcases a sophisticated flavor profile defined by deep, fruit-forward notes of raisin and plum, rounded out by a classic, grounding chocolate base. The distinct character is rooted in the quality of the beans, which are sourced from the Upala region in Costa Rica. To ensure the highest potential for flavor, the beans undergo a meticulous post-harvest process consisting of a six-day box fermentation followed by natural sun-drying, resulting in an intense and polished final product.
The composition of the bar is kept intentionally simple to allow the terroir of the Costa Rican cacao to shine. Using only cocoa, sugar, and additional cocoa butter, the makers focus on purity and technique. This dedication to excellence has garnered significant international recognition, including a European Gold and a World Silver award at the 2017 International Chocolate Awards.
