Ethiquable

Established in 2003, Ethiquable operates as a cooperative company, or SCOP, where the business is proudly owned by its employees. Based in France, the organization functions as a large-scale advocate for peasant farming, maintaining a focus on social utility through its status as an Entreprise Solidaire d'Utilité Sociale. Their model emphasizes long-term partnerships with over 100 cooperatives of small-scale producers located across France and throughout the global South.

At the heart of their operations is a dedicated chocolate factory in Fleurance, located in the Gers region. Opening its doors in 2022, this facility allows Ethiquable to manage the chocolate-making process from bean to bar. This transition to internal production ensures that the journey from raw cocoa to finished tablet remains closely overseen, resulting in bars that capture the authentic profiles of their diverse, sustainably sourced origins. The focus remains on organic ingredients that highlight the nuance of the terroir while maintaining consistent texture and flavor profiles.

The core of Ethiquable remains its deep commitment to fair trade principles, which provide tangible benefits to nearly 49,000 producers across 29 countries. By integrating these small-scale farming communities into their supply chain, the producer ensures that the cultivation of cocoa is tied to economic stability and environmental stewardship. Every tablet reflects this expansive network of farmers, bridging the gap between the remote regions where the cocoa grows and the final, refined chocolate experience.
