The first chocolate made from cocoa grown in Australia was launched under the Daintree Estates brand in 2011. Its cocoa is grown by farmers in Far North Queensland, mostly along the coast between Cape Tribulation and Innisfail.
Daintree Cocoa Pty Ltd, the company that built the brand, went into administration in 2025. Australian Cocoa & Chocolate Purveyors Pty Ltd, a Davies family company based in Melbourne, then acquired the Daintree Estates brand.
The range includes a Dark 70% and a Rich Milk 45% bar, flavoured dark milk bars and couverture buttons. Daintree Estates sells online and through stockists.
